Primary school sponsorship

Milly Sharon Akuuta

Age 8 · Kabokorit Primary School

Milly was living on the streets, under the care of an uncle who struggled with alcohol addiction and was not caring for her. TNCH social workers met Milly, placed her into safe foster care, and enrolled her at Kabokorit Primary School through sponsorship.

Today, Milly is one of our thriving sponsored students — loved, fed, and learning.

"She finally has a place where she is known, fed, and taught."
Tertiary sponsorship

Leah Amojong

Bachelor of Education

Leah was sponsored through TNCH from primary school all the way through to university. She is now completing a Bachelor of Education and intends to return to her community as a teacher.

Leah's trajectory is what sustainable development looks like — a sponsored child becoming a teacher who sponsors the next generation.

"My dream is to inspire students, give back to my community, and support other needy children just as I was supported."
Continuing a dream

Abigael Napeyok Kaile

Grade 4 · Carrying her sister's legacy

Earlier this year, Gloria — one of our much-valued sponsored primary school children — became gravely ill. She was referred to a hospital in Lodwar, but the ambulance cost of 20,000 KSh was not available, and Gloria passed away. Her mother said she was singing before she died.

After the funeral, Gloria's younger sister Abigael said she wanted to continue Gloria's dream and help her parents. Abigael is now in Grade 4 and is continuing her education.

"Pray for Abigael as she studies — so that Gloria will be remembered, and her dream will be fulfilled."
The reality

Why this work is urgent.

Life-threatening challenges are never far from the door in Kakuma. These are the realities our children face — and the reasons consistent support matters so much.

Disease

Malaria, cholera, typhoid, dysentery, snake bites, malnutrition, vision impairment — all common risks for children with no access to reliable medical care.

Transport

TNCH has no vehicle. Transporting a sick child to a clinic at night is often impossible — a gap that has cost lives.

Street life

Many vulnerable children in Kakuma town end up on the streets, drawn into drug addiction or prostitution — unless intercepted early.

You can change the next story.
